The Clearwater Church of Mt Zion began in our hearts when we moved to Clearwater in 2004. After attending many different churches, the Lord began to speak to us about starting a church. He spoke that He desired us to dig a well where pure water, deep water, could be drawn and given to His people. God desires to have the pure and deep word of God taught to many. We, under the guidance of our church fellowship (ZFI), began to seek the Lord in this direction. We felt that we first needed to birth the church through much prayer. So, we set our hearts to seek the Lord.
After a year of seeking the Lord, a couple moved to Florida, whom we knew quite well and had attended the same church in the past. We began to have home meetings together in St. Petersburg. It was a year of much prayer and hearing from the Lord. He spoke to us about establishing a foundation and plowing the ground for our church. During this time, we also began to search for a building to meet in. It would take another year before the Lord would open this door.
After much seeking, in April of 2007, the Lord sovereignly opened a door for us to meet in a Spanish church called Puerto Del Cielo. God has beautifully united these two churches. The Clearwater Church of Mt. Zion will be working with the Spanish church as well as having our own English services. The Lord has greatly put upon our heart the desire to prepare a place for Him; a place where His presence will dwell and where people can find joy and peace in the presence of the Lord. The Lord recently spoke to us that the time of plowing was coming to an end and the time of planting is now come. How exciting to be led by the Lord!
So, here we are, stepping into this fresh door the Lord has opened for us to begin this Church. If you desire to be a part of this journey with us, if you’re desire is to prepare a place for the Lord, and desire the Lord’s presence we ask that you would come and visit us. See if the Lord would desire you to be a part of this work and together build a place for Him. Like King David of old, may we “...allow no sleep to my eyes, no slumber to my eyelids, till I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." ~ Psalm 132:4-5.
